Lead Application Engineer

A lead developer of ChannelWave's core product, a 3-tier MS COM+ extranet application for managing sales leads. Responsibilities included design of data and object models, use cases, sequence diagrams, etc. using Rational Rose and erWin. Developed new product functionality (COM+, VB, J++, ASP, MTS, SQL, XML, WSH). Ported a COM+ application to the JavaServer platform (JSP, JDBC, JavaBeans). Taught Java classes. Provided training and mentoring and acted as a key technical resource for all areas of the company.

GTE Internetworking, Cambridge, MA    10/97 - 12/98
Systems Engineer

Lead developer of GTEI's Windows NT-based Web hosting products. Designed a secure hosting platform based on NT Server 4.0, IIS 4.0, SQL Server and Site Server. Developed tools using C, Perl, ASP and WSH to automate installation and configuration of software components. Developed VB COM components for IIS metabase (ADSI) automation. Developed SQL stored procedures and configuration/tuning scripts. Provided technical training for product managers and acted as a primary technical contact for the Sales and Marketing groups.

Systems Engineer

Responsible for scaling and tuning Amulet's NT-based InfoWizard online service and network infrastructure. Managed our firewall, Internet/intranet/NT security issues and network capacity planning. Developed a variety of automation tools in Perl and C, including an application to facilitate back-end data processing of Web-based banner ad campaigns. Designed and deployed a comprehensive home-grown network monitoring tool.

Lead PC/LAN Analyst

Lead role in defining and implementing the Windows NT domain architecture for Hancock's Investment and Pension business unit. Designed an SMS site, a departmental intranet, managed a network test lab and provided training and mentoring in Windows NT and Internet technologies.

Synthesized and characterized a variety of materials for high-resolution thermal and photochemical imaging system prototypes. Developed a novel 3-D liquid crystal-based display system.

Introduced Windows NT domain to simplify PC/Mac data sharing. Deployed internal Web and FTP servers. Developed a Windows application in C which simplified data collection from a densitometer. Developed a DOS-based 3-D molecular visualization application in C.

Synthesized a variety of phospholipid materials using a combination of enzymatic and modern synthetic techniques. Developed purification schemes using ion-exchange and adsorbtion chromatography.

 

PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS

Co-author of sixteen US patents dealing with high-resolution thermal and photochemical imaging systems, a book chapter dealing with biocatalysis in organic chemistry and a research paper describing the mutagenicity of a class of materials. Guest lecturer for a graduate-level chemistry course at Brandeis University.
